Ayurvedic massage and treatments in Zurich
Six ayurvedic treatments in Zurich Hottingen. 60 minutes CHF 160, 90 minutes CHF 210.
All ayurvedic massages and treatments take place at my practice at Klosbachstrasse 112 in Zurich Hottingen. They last 60 minutes (CHF 160) or 90 minutes (CHF 210) and are adapted to your situation after a short conversation. The person comes before the method: which of the six it turns out to be is something we decide together. I treat in German, English and Italian.
Nothing is done to a formula. What you read here is the framework — the actual shape of a session emerges on the day, with you in the room.

Common questions
What people most want to know before a first appointment.
What is an ayurvedic massage, and how is it different from a wellness massage?
An ayurvedic massage is a full-body treatment with warm plant oil. In Ayurveda it is traditionally used to let the body and the nervous system settle. The strokes are long and even, they follow the run of the muscles, the pressure is medium, and the head and neck get a lot of time. The practical difference from a wellness massage: it begins with a short conversation and an ayurvedic assessment of your constitution — the oil, the pace and the emphasis follow from that. There is no fixed programme. At my practice in Zurich Hottingen a treatment lasts 60 minutes (CHF 160) or 90 minutes (CHF 210).
Which ayurvedic massage is right for me?
If you are permanently wired and cannot switch off, Abhyanga is usually the way in. For muscular tension, stiffness and feeling constantly cold, Pinda Sweda tends to fit better. If it is mainly your head that will not settle, I prefer to work with marma points. For heavy legs and a feeling of swelling, manual lymphatic drainage is the gentlest choice. If in doubt, we settle it in the first ten minutes of a consultation.
Can treatments be combined?
Yes, and it often makes sense. A 90-minute session might begin with Abhyanga and finish with marma work on the head and neck. I always discuss combinations with you beforehand.
How often should I come?
Close together at first, then further and further apart. In the first phase I usually treat every seven to ten days, because that is when most happens. After that we deliberately stretch the intervals. The aim is not that you come regularly — it is that you learn to recognise your own balance and come only when you genuinely need to.
Are these treatments recognised by Swiss health insurance?
I am registered with the ErfahrungsMedizinisches Register (EMR/RME). Many Swiss supplementary insurance policies for complementary medicine therefore contribute part of the cost. Compulsory basic insurance (KVG/LAMal) does not cover these treatments at all. Whether and how much you get back is decided solely by your insurer and depends on your policy — please check with them before your first appointment.
