An ayurvedic treatment at my practice in Zurich Hottingen costs CHF 160 for 60 minutes and CHF 210 for 90 minutes. The same price applies to Abhyanga, Pinda Sweda, marma therapy, lymphatic drainage, pregnancy massage and ayurvedic nutrition guidance — it depends on the length of the session, not on the method.
The same price for every treatment has a reason: I want us to choose the treatment that fits, not the one that is cheapest.

Health insurance and reimbursement
I am registered with the Swiss ErfahrungsMedizinisches Register (EMR/RME): for ayurveda nutrition and massage (method 57) and for ayurveda therapy (method 4041). Everything I offer is invoiced as ayurveda therapy. Many Swiss supplementary insurance policies for complementary medicine therefore contribute towards the cost. On your policy documents this cover is called Zusatzversicherung.
Whether, how much and up to which annual limit your insurer reimburses is decided solely by your insurer and depends on your specific policy. My treatments are not covered by Swiss compulsory basic insurance (KVG/LAMal).
In concrete terms: 60 minutes costs CHF 160. If your supplementary insurance contributes 75 per cent, for example, you pay CHF 40 yourself — until the annual limit on your policy is reached. After that you pay the full CHF 160 again. Whether it is 50, 75 or 90 per cent, and where that limit sits, is written in your policy and decided by your insurer alone.
Please check your cover with your insurer before your first appointment, and request written confirmation of costs (Kostengutsprache) if they need it. After every treatment you receive an invoice with everything your insurer requires.

Appointments and cancellations
- Appointments can be cancelled or moved free of charge up to 24 hours beforehand.
- For later cancellations I charge half the fee.
- Payment on the day of the treatment by TWINT, card or cash.
- The invoice reaches you by email afterwards, with everything your supplementary insurance needs.
- Please do not come straight after a large meal — two hours is ideal.

Does Swiss health insurance cover ayurvedic massage in Zurich?
Compulsory basic insurance does not. Many supplementary policies for complementary medicine do contribute part of the cost, usually up to an annual limit. Are there packages or subscriptions?
No. I do not sell ten-session cards or bundles. You book what you need, when you need it.
How does reimbursement actually work?
You pay for the treatment yourself. You receive an invoice showing my EMR registration and my ZSR number. You submit that invoice to your supplementary insurer, not to basic insurance, and your insurer reimburses you directly. Check the percentage and the annual limit before your first appointment.
How can I pay?
On site with TWINT, card or cash. Or you receive an invoice — the same one you can submit to your supplementary insurer.
